Good coaches know that you can’t train all swimmers in the same manner. You need to individualize training according to specialty and strength. Jimmy Parmenter, head coach of the Plantation Swim Team, shares a flexible kick set you can use with every swimmer in the group.
Jimmy Parmenter has been coaching with the Plantation Swim Team since 1990, taking the reins as head coach in 2000. In that time he has coached over 100 swimmers to top 16 NAG rankings and has been twice named Florida Gulf Coast Age group coach of the year.
In 2002 he was named National High School Athletic Association Southeastern Coach of the Year, and has spent the last few years on the Florida Gold Coast Zone Team coaching staff.
Today he shares us a kick and swim set that can be adapted to whatever the swimmer specializes in, whether it is a fast-twitch splash and dasher or a distance swimmer.
